Enrichment

We are proud of the Enrichment activities we offer at Hartlip which enhance our curriculum. Some enrichment activities link to our subject knowledge and skills and others link to whole school concepts such as life skills and values.
We have begun our journey as an OPAL school. Three lunchtimes/week, children can choose to be an Eco Warrior. They wear a tabbard and look after the grounds of our school, engaging in all kinds of activities. .
Children can choose to meet with the Worship Leader to plan the weekly 'Worship for children, by children!' They also lead charity events and provide the link between school and church for special festivals in the church's calendar.
Children are elected on to a school council, who represent class views about how to make the school a better place. The School Council engage in initiatives to raise money for the school. They meet to make up sweet bags and run the weekly Tuck Shop.
We have House Teams to which all pupils and members of staff belong to. House points can be awarded and the winning house is celebrated each week in our Celebration Worship, and at the end of every term and year where a trophy is awarded.
All staff and pupils also engage in ‘Huff Puff’ where they collect Huff Puff active minutes. These are then added up, awarded and celebrated in Celebration Worship.

Children can participate in Singing Squad, who lead the music in church each week, with the worship band. They also represent school at community events such as Nine Lessons and Carols.
We visit Forest School as a whole school three times year. Children have the opportunity to ‘buddy up’ in activities and teach each other different skills as well as experience that awe and wonder. Worship, as a school takes place in the forest and it is a delight to see the spiritual development of staff and pupils alike.
Pupils in Eagles class have the opportunity for residential trips and every class will take part in several school trips a year to enhance their learning. We also invite visitors in.
Special weeks and days are timetabled in to our yearly cycles. Some examples are: Founder’s Day, Science Week, Book Week, National Down Syndrome Day, Neurodiversity, Diabetes Awareness Spirited Arts Week and many more!

We have been so impressed with how well the school supports well being and ensures my child is well supported in class
